Got Pot? Rick L. Mahler

Thank you first for visiting this webpage. If you are reading this you may have been arrested for Possession of Marijuana or Possession of other controlled substances, such as Tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC. I am a criminal attorney licensed in the State of Texas since 1981 and I believe I can help you with any problems you may encounter regarding theses offenses.

Please let me tell you a little more about myself.  I have practiced criminal law since 1985 in both State and Federal Courts of Texas.  I started practicing in the Wichita County Attorney’s Office in 1985 and that office was later absorbed into the Wichita County Criminal District Attorney’s Office later that year. I began doing felony cases in 1986 which included many types of felonies such as murder, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, burglary as well as felony drug cases. I was promoted to Chief Felony Prosecutor for Wichita County in 1993 and I was responsible for supervising all the felonies that were processed by the District Attorney’s Office.  I also was responsible for training new felony prosecutors as well as coordinating with the various police departments, sheriff’s office and Department of Public Safety. I continued to prosecute cases in all areas of criminal law until 1999 when I started only prosecuting felony drug cases.  I prosecuted drug cases for the rest of my tenure in the District Attorney’s Office until I retired from there in 2007.

In 2007 I entered private practice here in Wichita Falls, Texas.  I have continued to practice criminal law in the role of a criminal defense attorney in most of North Central Texas from Hardeman County (the cities of Quanah, Chillicothe), Wilbarger County (the city of Vernon), Wichita County (the cities of Wichita Falls, Burkburnett, Electra and Iowa Park, Clay County (the city of Henrietta) and Montague ( the city of Bowie).

I have defended many clients from all over the United States who have been caught in North Central Texas and charged with criminal offenses. I have represented many people through the years who have been caught carrying marijuana and THC in their vehicles. Through my experience with the District Attorney’s Office and 10 years of private practice have met and worked with almost every prosecutor and judge in our area.

I became Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1995 and have remained so certified ever since.  There currently are more than 100,000 lawyers in the State of Texas of which only 7400 are board certified in their particular area of law.  The 7400 board certified attorneys covers every area of practice of law in Texas. Only a small portion of those attorneys are board certified in criminal law.  The Texas Board of Legal Specialization states that an attorney so designated, "sets them apart as being an attorney with the highest, public commitment to excellence in their area of the law".

I would be happy to put all my experience and knowledge that I have gained over the years to work for you.  Please call me at 1-800-785-9630. We can schedule an appointment or a phone consultation.  There is no charge for the initial visit. If you need help in this field, I am here for you. Please call because I look forward to visiting with you.
